2025 IOTA HONOUR ROLL & ANNUAL LISTINGS ---> The last date for submitting
applications or score updates to checkpoints for inclusion in the 2025
Honour Roll and Annual Listings is 31 January 2025. If submitted after that
date, they will be processed in the normal way, but the scores will be held
over to the following year's listing. Where packages with cards are
involved, these need to be posted/dated before 31 January. Participants who
have not updated since the 2020 annual listings and wish to remain listed
should make a submission on or before 31 January 2025. Those who have not
logged into their record for more than two years, will need to revalidate
their registration through info@iota-world.org. Do not leave it to the last
moment as you may run out of time. [Source: https://www.iota-world.org]
ARRL SYSTEMS SERVICE DISRUPTION: DXCC ---> "In October, we reported that the
ARRL DXCC System had been returned to service. Since then, over 3,000 DXCC
applications have been logged into the DXCC System for processing. It is
important to understand that the queue of submitted applications is very
large, and has included nearly 6 months of applications for processing. ARRL
Awards staff and additional staff and volunteers have been working extended
hours and weekends to process applications.
DXCC is ARRL's most popular award. Even while previously submitted appli-
cations are being processed, new applications are being submitted and
received every day. We continue to appreciate everyone's patience as we
process the large queue of submitted applications.
----------------------------
Application Processing Queue
----------------------------
DXCC applications enter the DXCC System from one of three sources: from
DXCC applications created by users in Logbook of The World (LoTW), from
traditional paper applications, and from the Online DXCC Application.
The DXCC System has logged applications received via Logbook of The World
from May through October 23, and paper applications received through mid-
December. On December 13, the Online DXCC Application was returned to
service.
We are currently processing paper applications received in November and
December, and applications from LoTW submitted in November.
We have resumed mailing orders for paper DXCC Certificates and endorsement
stickers. Over 350 certificates were mailed on December 26.
The easiest way to determine if your DXCC application has been processed
is to review your LoTW account (https://lotw.arrl.org/). From the Award
Account Menu, select Account Status. The "Awarded" column will reflect those
QSOs that have been awarded to you after your application(s) has been fully
processed.
We appreciate your continued patience as we work to return to normal pro-
cessing times. Our team is committed to ensuring that all applications are
handled as quickly and efficiently as possible. Thank you once again for
your understanding and support during this time". [Source: ARRL, 27 December

C8K: POSTPONED ---> The Czech DXpedition Group's C8K DXpediton to Mozambique
[425DXN 1756] has been postponed until 2006.
"It is with deep disappointment that we must inform you that due to the
current security situation in Mozambique, we are compelled to postpone our
planned expedition originally scheduled for departure on January 17, 2025.
After careful examination of the travel advisories issued by the US, UK,
Germany, and the Czech Republic's foreign ministries, all of which have
raised their warning levels and currently advise against travel to Mozam-
bique, we have concluded that the risks associated with carrying out the
expedition are too high. The safety of our members and team is our highest
priority.
The situation in Mozambique has become unstable due to recent presidential
elections leading to demonstrations, roadblocks, looting, and vandalism.
Furthermore, a recent prison riot near the capital city of Maputo, which
resulted in the escape of several thousand prisoners, only underscores the
uncertainty in the region. Additionally, the owner of our planned accommoda-
tion has informed us that the situation is unclear, with supply issues and
occasional roadblocks.
For these reasons, we have decided not to cancel the expedition but to
reschedule it to January/February 2026. We believe that by then, the situa-
tion in Mozambique will stabilize, allowing us to carry out our project
without unnecessary risks.
Regarding the change in plans, we will be contacting our sponsors individ-
ually to discuss further actions concerning their support. We appreciate
your support and understanding during these challenging times. We will keep
you informed of further developments and the new planning for the expedi-
tion". [Source: https://www.cdxp.cz/]
CWOPS AWARD ---> First presented in 2016, the "CWops Award for Advancing the
Art of CW" recognizes individuals, groups and organizations that have made
the greatest contributions toward advancing the art or practice of radio
communication by Morse code. Nominations must be received by 14 March 2025.
See https://cwops.org/the-cwops-award-for-advancing-the-art-of-cw/ for the
details.
The Radio Officers' Association (https://radioofficers.com) is the recipient
of the 2024 Award. Comprising nearly 400 former professional radio officers,
half of whom hold amateur radio licences, the ROA highlights the history and
achievements of more than 100 years of professional maritime and aeronauti-
cal radio. ROA's ongoing efforts preserve CW as a vital communications medi-
um by serving as a repository of the history of the role of CW in maritime
and aeronautical communications through publication of its long-time journal
plus many activities.
