The Worked All Europe Awards are still going strong 70 years after
their first inception. The anniversary will be celebrated by

DK200MARX (special DOK 200KM) celebrates Karl Marx's 200 birthday

Radio amateurs in Wismar are celebrating 90 years of ham radio in
Mecklenburg-West Pomerania with the call DM90AIW (special DOK
EK4ABK). QRV between Jan. 1 and June 30. Their historical source is
a QSL card of EK4ABK dating from Jan. 9 in 1928. QSL via bureau,

DL, Germany:
DA200FWR (special DOK FWR200) draws attention to the 200th birthday
of Friedrich Wilhelm Raiffeisen, a German pioneer of forms of
cooperative economy in the 19th century. His ideas and works were
recognised by UNESCO as an Intangible Cultural Heritage in 2016.

Radio amateurs from the DARC club Hassberge (B37) are celebrating
the 1000th anniversary of the town Zeil am Main in 2018 with the

The DARC club of Paderborn (N14) celebrates its 70th anniversary
during 2018 with the callsign DL70PADER. QSL via bureau.
DL, Germany:
Railway radio ops from Paderborn are celebrating their club's 50th

G, England:
The founding of KW Electronics Ltd will be celebrated in 2018 by
GB2KW (operated by Chris/GM3WOJ and a team) from the 1st to 28th of
January, and by GB8KW (operated by members of the Cray Valley Radio

Members of the Denby Dale Amateur Radio Society will be active with

The special event station 8J7HCB draws attention to the 100th

James/KB2FMH and Mark/NO8J are putting the calls W2D and W8D on the
air during January to celebrate the R.L. Drake Company. QRV mainly

PJ7, Sint Maarten:
Vadym/UT6UD will be active as PJ7/UT6UD between Dec. 30 and Jan.

VI70HI (QTH: Australia, OC-001) marks the first ANARE expedition to

John/N9EAJ will be paying Grand Turk (NA-003) a visit from Dec. 27

VU, India:
Members of the West Bengal Radio Club (VU2MQT) will be active as

ritual bath on the 14th of January at the confluence of the river

Ulrich Bihlmayer, DJ9KR - sk:
Ulrich/DJ9KR passed away on December 16 after a long illness. For
more than 25 years (1986-2012) Uli headed the DARC monitoring
service; he also acted as a vice-coordinator for the IARU
monitoring system for a long time.
