** Thanks to the individuals who put the island/group and mode (which is very important) on their QSNs on their PacketCluster reports. The format we suggest is "Mode/IOTA#/Island or Group" (ex. CW/SA-036/Aruba).
AS-107. Members of the SIAM DX Group Club (E20AX) will be active as E20AX/P from Samet Island between May 15-17th. Operators mentioned are JayCie/E20NKB, Champ/E21EIC, John/E22JTJ, Tony/E24OYI, Bun/E25KAE, E25OKO, Mew/E29TGW, Tha/HS2KYA, Art/HS2UPR and Noi/HS3NBR. Activity will be on 40-10 meters (80m if space
allows) using CW, SSB and FT8. Suggested frequencies are:
CW - 3530, 7030, 10115, 14040, 18098, 21040, 24920 and 28040
SSB - 7055 14260, 18128, 21260, 24950 and 28460 kHz
They will have 2-3 stations running simultaneously. QSL via LoTW and E21EIC. QSL cards will automatically be sent to all successful QSOs via the Bureau.
AS-200. Take, JI3DST, will once again be active as JI3DST/5 (mainly for DX and 6m Multi-Hop) [not used, JI3DST/P for FT8], JJ5RBH (mainly for DX and JA) [without /P or /5,Fix QTH] and JS6RRR/5 (mainly for JA, JS8RRR/P for FT8) from Shodo Island (Shikoku's Coastal Islands) between 0700z, May 15th, and 0000z, July 4th.
Operation may vary due to heavy rain or other conditions. Activity will be on 80/40/30/20/17/15/12/10/6/2m meters (and 70cm) using CW, SSB and FT8 (possibly FM/RTTY). QSL JI3DST/5 via ClubLog's OQRS, LoTW, direct or by the Bureau*. QSL JJ5RBH via ClubLog, LoTW or Bureau*. QSL JS8RRR/5 via ClubLog, LoTW or Bureau*. *NO need to request by OQRS.
EU-032. The Les Nouvelles DX reports that Marc, F6HQP, will be active from the Island of Oléron (DIFM AT025) between May 20-25th. Depending on the weather and the tides, Marc will also try to activate (non-IOTAs) Nole Island (DIFM AT123) and Madame Island (DIFM AT024). Times will be posted on his QRZ.com page the day before. Activity will be mainly on 40/20 meters using SSB. QSL via the Bureau.
EU-045. Alessandro, IU3EDK, will be active as IB0V from Ventotene Island during the RSGB IOTA Contest (July 30-31st). Activity will be holiday style and there may be operations before and after the contest. QSL via IU3EDK, direct or by the Bureau.
EU-050. Franco, IZ5IUY, will be active as IL7/IZ5IUY from San Domino Island, Tremiti Archipelago, between July 2-21st. Activity will be on 80-2 meters using SSB and FT8/FT4. QSL via IZ5IUY, direct or by the Bureau (preferred).
EU-052. Phil, G7BZD, is hoping to be active as SV8/G7BZD from Corfu between May 31st and June 11th. Mainly operating while beach-side, activity will be on 40-10 meters (more likely to be 20m) using an Elecraft KX2 (w/10w) into a wire antenna. QSL via eQSL or LoTW. NO paper QSLs.
NA-062. Leonard, K1NU, will be active as K1JV (1A Operators Club Call) from Shelter Key (WW Loc. EL94), Key Colony Beach, FL, between June 11-18th. Activity will be on various HF bands using CW and FT8. QSL via K1NU, direct, ClubLog or LoTW.
NA-085. Bruce, K5TEN, who usually activates Dog Island (WW. Loc EL79) every year in June as K4D, will be active this year between May 16th and 26th. Dog Island (USI FL005S, WW Loc.EL79), Florida, is an extremely rare IOTA because access is controlled by the 25 or so homeowners on the island. There are no hams on the island, and the only activations have been done by Bruce over the last 9 years. Access is by permission only and permission by one of the homeowners. It is only accessible by private charter or single engine fixed wing aircraft and by charter boat. The airstrip is overgrown so private charter is the only real choice. There are no streets, roads, stop signs, trendy cafes, or beach-front bars. If you need it, you bring it. This year's activity will only be on 40-6 meters primarily on CW, SSB, FM, using 100 watts an ICOM 7100 into an off center fed dipole. Suggested frequencies are:
CW - 7027.5, 7110, 10110, 14027.5, 21027.5 and 28010 kHz
SSB - 7185, 14260, 21285 and 28310 kHz
QSL via K5TEN, SASE REQUIRED for stateside and DX (DX 1 USDs REQUIRED). Also, QSL via the Bureau or eQSL (Is Best). See QRZ.com or May QST for more details.
