5H - Tanzania - 08.08.17

Chas, NK8O, VE3ISD, will once again be active as 5H3DX from Zinga, Tanzania, between November 7th and December 4th. Activity will be from the pediatric hospital at Zinga. Usual operations will be holiday style. Power output will be the legal limit for Tanzania at 100w and the primary antenna should be a Hexbeam configured for 40-6 meters, including the WARC bands. Operations will be primarily CW. He states that he will use a simple wire antenna and his KX3 with a KXPA100 amp. See QSL info on QRZ.com. Also, QSL via LoTW and eQSL. NO Bureau.


V4 - St. Kitts and Navis - 08.08.17

John, W5JON, V47JA, informs OPDX that he will once again be active as V47JA from his vacation home in Calypso Bay, St. Kitts (NA-104, WW Loc. FK87SG), located 200 feet from the Caribbean Sea, between October 15th and November 7th. Activity will be on 160-6 meters (incl. 60m) using SSB. His operation will also include the CQWW DX SSB Contest (October 28-29th) as a Single Op/All-Band entry. Equipment is a Kenwood, TS-590S and Elecraft KPA500 Amplifier. Antennas include: 31', 10-40m Vertical, and 35', 40/80m Top Loaded Vertical; and newly added, shortened 160m dipole and 3 element Yagi for 6m. Also, XYL Cathy, W5HAM, will occasionally operate as V47HAM. ALL QSLs go to W5JON direct or via LoTW. NO Bureau QSLs.


V6 - Micronesia - 08.08.17

Operators Sho, JA7HMZ, will once again be active as V63DX from Pohnpei Island (OC-010) between November 24th and December 1st. Activity will be on 160-6 meters, all modes and including the CQWW DX CW Contest (November 25-26th) as a Single-Op/All-Band entry signing V6A. He will be looking for European stations on 160m before and after the contest. QSL via his home callsign. No Bureau QSLs.
