Sun: Six maybe more sunspots. Huge sunspot AR3112 has a delta-class magnetic field that poses a threat for X-class solar flares.
According to NOAA forecasters, multiple CMEs are heading for Earth. ETA: Oct. 4th. This could be a "Cannibal CME" event. Cannibal CMEs form when a fast-moving CME devours one or more slower CMEs ahead of it. The combined cloud contains tangled magnetic fields that can do a good job sparking auroras. Storm levels could reach category G2 if/when the Cannibal arrives.
Footy: Stoke managed to lose a home match against Watford 0 – 4. They had a brand new manager. Ours is fairly new, and still has to generate a home win. Burnley away on Wednesday night then Sheffield at home next Saturday. I can’t get there as there is a train strike yet again!! So far this season I’ve managed only one home match and no away matches. We are lingering in mid-table, for the moment.
Cricket: The T20 cricket, Pakistan v England, ended up being quite exciting (even if it’s not real cricket). England won quite convincingly. I could get to like this form of cricket but a highlight program of an hour would be very interesting. Strange, I get reminders that the highlights of the Stoke match are available, but really there are no highlights, lowlights maybe
