A terrific weekend for the Ten Metre SSB contest. With no other bands in use in the contest and no other comparable contest on at the same time participation was huge. Unfortunately very little of it was landing in the UK. In fact I didn’t work anyone in the contest.
This is a plot of the contacts, 9043 of them, in the 24 hours on Sunday.
Saturday was very similar with 8710 contacts.
Plenty of DX during the contest with perhaps ZF5T (Cayman Is) being the most unusual. Unfortunately during the week there was a data failure so the Wednesday and Thursday are empty of contacts.
Chris, G1WSA listened on 10m several times today (Saturday) He said, “The band was quiet. Just one station heard and worked, 9A2U 5/7. They were a contest station. I worked this from the car with 70W SSB into Wilson 1000 CB magmount cut down slightly for 10m. Sunday, didn't try and work as contester and worked yesterday. in same spot around 28.443 MHz. Also some stations talking in German.”
