As usual after a major contest the week was a bit slow, some DX but not loads of activity.
TZ1CE (Mali) and TO9W (St Martin) were popular, unsurprisingly. So was V31XX (Belize) and 5H3WX (Zanzibar Is)
I’m still trying to trace an anomaly in my logging program that makes it run very slowly after logging a few contacts. As usual with these things it’s not consistently reproducible.
I have been working FT4 on 20m to get contacts to help find the problem.

Sun: Just one unspectacular spot.
On Dec. 5th, a magnetic filament in the sun's southern hemisphere exploded. The swirling debris will probably sail just south of our planet on Dec. 10th.
Comet Leonard is rapidly brightening as it approaches Earth for a close encounter on Dec. 12th (35 million km). Just this morning it cracked 6th magnitude, making it barely visible to the unaided eye. Between now and Dec. 12th the comet could brighten another 5-fold to magnitude +4. Small telescopes and binoculars will have no trouble finding the green fuzzball in the pre-dawn sky, although it may remain a challenge for naked eyes.
Stoke beat QPR 0 – 2 last Sunday. QPR missed a penalty, it was a shocker by the usually reliable Charlie Austin. We took our chances and now are in 6th place. Middlesbro’ this Saturday, I’ll be there. They are fairly well placed in the league so it will be tough match. We have drawn Leyton Orient at Stoke in the FA Cup in January. More on that later.
