What an appalling week. Such low activity as I can’t remember for many a year. PT5J (Brazil), was about the most sought after with TI2JS (Costa Rica).
This picture is from Poas Volcano National Park, which is located in Central Costa Rica. The main crater elevation is 2450m above sea level (8040' above sea level) The crater diameter is almost a mile in diameter 1.5 km and has a depth of 1000' 350 m. This crater is known for ash and sulfur gas eruption. The volcano is very accessible by a road and a hike of 800 m or 1/2 mile to the crater itself.
F4CXO and KW4BY were top spotters. Of course they weren’t working the calls they spotted.

Sun: The current stretch of spotless days is 26. We need some solar activity. No one really knows how to predict the solar cycle. Nevertheless, NASA and NOAA are holding a media teleconference on Sept. 15th, about predicting the solar cycle. I’ll try to get some of the opinions for next week. (Spaceweather.com)
Stoke City played out a boring nil each draw at Millwall. Still, a point is a point. Wolves away on Thursday in the EFL Cup then Bristol at home on Sunday.
Middlesex are not doing well in the cricket. However England snatched a victory in the second ODI against Australia. The last one is Wednesday, the series decider.
